How do I find events near me?
The home feed shows events around your location. Set a home location in Settings for better results, or search by area and date. If there's nothing nearby, we show a wider selection.
Do I need an account to browse?
You can browse public events without an account, but you need one to sign up for events, message organisers, or host.
Attending events
How do I sign up for an event?
Open the event and request to join. Some events confirm you instantly; others ask the host to approve you first.
Who can see that I'm attending?
Anyone viewing the event can see who has signed up. This helps people know who they'll be gathering with.
Can I pay in person, or do I have to pay online?
Both. For paid events you can pay online, or in person at the event if the host allows it. When you pay online, almost the entire amount goes straight to the host — Palin keeps only a tiny share (roughly a euro once payment processing is covered). We deliberately keep our cut as small as possible so hosting stays worthwhile for organisers.
What does "pending" or "confirmed" mean?
Pending means the host hasn't approved you yet, or your online payment hasn't completed. Confirmed means your spot is secured.
Can I cancel my spot?
Yes, from the event page. The host is notified automatically.

Can I offer paid events?
Yes. You can set a fixed price or accept donations, and let people pay online or in person. To accept online payments you first connect a Mollie account — a separate, one-time setup where Mollie verifies your identity and tax/personal details. That information stays with Mollie under their privacy policy; Palin never sees or stores your identification data. In-person payments need no setup at all.
Can I reuse an event for a recurring gathering?
Yes, and it's quick: open the event you already made and add a new session right there. You only enter the new date and place — everything else carries over, so you don't retype it.
Can I make my event private?
Yes. Private events are only visible to invited accounts.
Who can see the exact location?
You choose: reveal the precise location to everyone, or only to confirmed attendees.
What if I cancel a session, or its time or place changes?
Edit or cancel the session and everyone who signed up is notified automatically — no need to message them yourself.

What is a guest list?
A reusable list of people you can invite to events in one go, instead of inviting them one by one.
How do guest list invitations work?
When you invite a list to an event, each person on it receives their own invitation and responds individually.

What's the difference between a personal profile and an organization?
A personal profile is you. An organization is a shared identity for a group or collective, with its own profile and events.

Roles control permissions: Owners manage everything, Moderators manage members and events, Organisers create and run their own events, and Members have view access.

What is a space?
A place to host an event — a studio, a living room, a meditation room, a garden, anything you can gather in. You can find and book spaces by the hour, and you can list your own for free today.

How does booking a space work?
Pick a date and time, review the price, and book. Some spaces confirm instantly; others need the owner's approval. A booking can be linked to one of your event sessions.
How do I set my space's availability and price?
Set weekly availability and pricing, with optional date-specific overrides and discounts for longer bookings.

How do I contact an organiser?
Open their profile or an event and send a message. Organizations reply through their shared inbox.

Privacy & safety
Is my data sold to advertisers?
No. Palin does not sell personal data and does not use behavioural advertising tracking.
Who can see my profile?
Your display name, handle, and public content are visible to anyone, including people without an account. Your real name, if you provide it, stays private and is only used to verify attendees at check-in.
How do I report someone or something?
Use the report option on a profile, event, or guest list. Choose a reason and add details; our team reviews every report.
Why has an event disappeared?
If an event broke our rules it may have been suspended after a report. Suspended events are hidden from discovery.
